Local Boeta Council

Henry Davis

My name is Henry Davis, but everyone calls me ‘Hennie’. I'm married to my lovely wife Natasha, who’s in charge of the

soup kitchen that opens every week on a Tuesday. She also helps a lot with Boeta behind the scene. I have 3 kids: 2

boys 1girl - Kyle, who’s a welder thanks to the fact that he could go and study, Cheslyn and Chanté. Both of them

didn’t study and sometimes I regret that, because now they are often struggling to find a decent job.

I’ve been working at Springfield convent school for the past 7 years. I'm the head of maintenance and the grounds.

That sounds important and sometimes it feels, because I’m responsible for 5 guys that need to work hard and do all

the jobs at the school. The school is a private school - a Catholic school - so mostly the more rich children come here,

but often I get the idea that I can also teach them some stuff by telling them about Ocean View and the problems or explaining them things my parents taught me.

I am the person in charge of the vehicles at the Boeta Foundation. That means that I look after the Boeta Van, make

sure it is always in order and check who’s using it and what for. For the rest I take care of the functions that are run

by the local committee, like the dance that we hosted the last time. I like organising and I think I’m good at it.

The boeta foundation is a great blessing for our kids and for those are in need - not only of a bursary, but also for

food and hope. The work of the foundation encourages our kids to make a success of there career one day. We are

greatfull for the boeta foundation for helping the community in Ocean View, because somewhere along the line it gives us hope again.
